In 2003 I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where I became both Marine and Combat Videographer. I became knowledgeable in how to conduct interviews and interact with people I was often unfamiliar with. After receiving a honorable discharge from the Marine Corps I decided to further my education.

I attended college in Morehead City North Carolina where my husband was stationed. There I received a greater appreciation and understanding of photography and its many mediums.

I became very interested in infrared photography and the concept of revealing the unseen. The unseen to me is very fascinating. I think often in our daily rush to and from, waking up just looking forward to sleeping again, we loose sight of the beauty that surrounds us daily, I've chosen to look beyond that.

In my last semester in North Carolina I completed a documentary on the war memorials, titled "Home from War". It is a documentary that looks into the personable side of war instead of the war itself. I grew tremendously in that documentary and began to see beyond the history books definition of war, I saw the people, I learned to put my camera down and listen. Through that documentary I gained a greater respect for myself and the people and veterans around me.

Currently I am attending the Art Institute of Washington where I am furthering both my knowledge and experience in the photographic world, and continuing to see new things daily.
